Eugene S. Traeger, 64, of 3905 15th St. B., Moline, died this morning at his home. Funeral services will be Saturday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Moline, with time of service to be announced. Burial will be National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wheelan Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held Friday evening.
Mr. Traeger was born May 27, 1920, in Rock Island, the son of Stuart and Maude Houston Means. He received his education in Davenport, and had lived in East Moline, moving to Moline in 1953. He married Mary Bileddo Feb. 14, 1942, in Rock Island.
He was employed as a bartender for 28 years at Hafner's Wagon Wheel in Moline. Earlier he worked at the former Oscar's in Rock Island. He last worked in May 1983. Mr. Trager was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the above church.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Sister Mary Jean, O.P., of Springfield; a son, Michael S. of Douglasville, Ga; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Wiora, Mrs. Donna Zicarelli, and Miss Delores Traeger, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Darlene Doyle of Indianapolis Ind.
