Ewing T. Brigman

Ewing T. Brigman was born near Joy, Nov. 2, 1852, to Edd and Nancy Brigman, spending his entire life in the Joy neighborhood. He died June 3 at the home of his daughter, Martha Taff, where he made his home following the death of his wife, sixteen years ago. He was 84 years, 7 months and 1 day of age.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hodges Aug. 27, 1874, and to their union eleven children were born, three preceding him in death—two in infancy, and a daughter, Frances Blackwell, a few months ago.
He accepted Christ several years ago, and united with the Hepsoda Baptist Church, living a devoted Christian life to the end.
He leaves to mourn their loss: five sons—Burs, Jim, Grover, Lee and Arthur; three daughters—Martha Taff, Viola Demings and Isabella Williams; a sister, Martha Arwood; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Friday by the Rev. J. E. Gaines at the Hepsoda Church, with burial under direction of C. K. Spencer.
