Funeral services for John Tilbury, 1226 Second st. So., were held Wednesday afternoon at the Olson Funeral Home with Rev. L. P. Warford officiating. Burial was made in the Nymore Lutheran cemetery. The Olson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tilbury, resident of Bemidji for 15 years, was employed at Dunham's mill, and died at the Lutheran Hospital Saturday morning after a brief illness. He was born at Urbana, Iowa Dec 6, 1885. He came to Minnesota when a boy and lived in the neighborhood of Backus where he gained considerable fame in amateur baseball. He also resided at Blackduck.

Survivors include his widow to whom he was married at Fargo in 1918; and a brother, James, of Backus and two sisters, Leota Powers and May Lockie, both in California. (Northland Times, Dec 24, 1948)
