SOUTH BEND - Sister M. John Thomas Butler, CSC, 95, of Saint Mary's Convent, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday in her residence.

Sister M. John entered the Congregation of Sisters of Holy Cross on June 26, 1922; received her novice on Jan. 6, 1923; and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1925. She was assigned to elementary teaching and served in Chicago and Morris, Ill.; Washington, D.C.; Alexandria, Va.; Lancaster, Pa.; Austin, Texas; New York City and Batavia, N.Y. She was born July 11, 1900, in Limerick, Ireland. She is survived by a sister, Sister Magdalen de Pazzi, RSM, of Limerick City, Ireland.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the church. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry With the Poor Fund, Bertrand Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
