Thursday July 25, 1940 (The Arlington Citizen) - Mrs. Laura E. Dillion Dies In Wichita Falls.
Mrs. Laura E. Dillion, 75, wife of the late W. J. Dillion, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Lewis at Wichita Falls on July 9th.

Mrs. Dillion lived here a number of years and had a host of friends. She was a member of the Methodist Church choir, the church, Sunday School, and other civic organizations. Her daughter, Mrs. Lewis, taught in the Arlington public schools.

Funeral services were conducted at the Arlington M. E. Church Thursday afternoon, July 11th at two p.m. with Rev. Paul Martin of Wichita Falls and the Rev. Bassett of Dallas officiating with the assistance of Rev. A. W. Hall. Interment was made in Arlington Cemetery with the Moore Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Horace Cooper, J. H. Purvis, W. A. Ransom, James Knapp, Homer Slaughter, and a friend from Wichita Falls.

Music was furnished by Mrs. James Knapp, Mrs. Howard Smith, Mrs. J. C. Maguire, Mrs. Grover Pierce and a solo was sung by a friend from Wichita Falls, with Mrs. John Kooken at the organ.

Immediate members of the family and other relatives gathered at the home of Mrs. W. R. Milton upon arriving in Arlington and later returned. They were met by Mrs. W. J. Boothe, Mrs. Milton, Mrs. Francis, Miss Irene Boothe, and Madge Milton.

Members of the family who were present were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson of McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Brown of Durant, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Shelander of San Antonio, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lewis of Wichita Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dillion of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Olan Dillion of San Aantonio, Bernice Dillion of Houston, and Mrs. Clifford Dillion of Amarillo, Milton Dillion of Los Angeles, California could not attend. The grand children were Dillion and Joe Anderson of Houston, Olan Jr. and Bryan Dillion of San Antonio, Sue Dillion of Dallas, Chas. and Lera Bess Shelander of San Antonio.
