Mrs. Kate Pettus Mitchell, 82, who was a charter member of the Friendship Methodist Church, died Thursday at the Limestone Nursing Home.
Funeral services were to be today at 2 p.m. at the McConnell Funeral Home chapel, Rev. Alvin Mac Stinson Jr. officiating, with burial in the Athens City Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Oleta Lester of Athens; two sons, Wendell L. Mitchell of Athens and J. W. Mitchell of Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Clardy of Athens and Mrs. Armie Brock of Waxahachie, TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
