M. Berniece Stanley McClerren, 79, of Decatur died 12:50 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 20, 2000) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Graceland / Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation was Thursday. Entombment will be in Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Berniece was born in Rolfe, Iowa, on Aug. 13, 1921, the daughter of Floyd and Nora 'Viva' Stanley. She was retired from the Macon County Treasurer's office and was a longtime member of Marigold Chapter of ABWA, where she held several offices over the years. She was a member of Moundford Free Methodist Church. She married Ardell McClerren on June 23, 1940. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1981.
Surviving are her children, Steve and wife Brenda of Decatur; Linda Wiles and husband Jim of Macon; granddaughters, Stephanie McClerren of Decatur; Jennifer Barr and husband Scott of Mount Zion; brothers, Gerald 'Bud' Stanley and wife Maxine; Wayne Stanley and wife Helen; sisters, Maxine Weikle and Eunice Fox, all of Decatur; numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson, Chad Wiles of Macon.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
