SALISBURY - Robert Lincoln Barringer, 91, of Salisbury, passed away at Autumn Care of Salisbury Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, after a brief illness.

Born March 12, 1921, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late David Barringer and Laura Agner Barringer. He was educated in Rowan County schools, where he graduated high school.

Mr. Barringer served in the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. After service, he went to work at Cannon Mills Plant 7 and became a supervisor in the weave room.

He was a lifelong member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a member of John's Sunday School Class.

He was preceded by his wife of 66 years, Lucille Broadway Barringer, August 18, 2005; brothers Paul, Ervin and John Barringer; and sisters Louise File, Ester Graham and Mary Barringer. Also preceding him was a grandson, Eric Connor.

Mr. Barringer is survived by daughter Patricia Connor and husband Walter of Salisbury; sister Norma Daniel of Salisbury; grandchildren Anjie Erbsen, Teresa Foust and husband George and Vicki Ford and husband Eric; and great-grandchildren Connor Erbsen, Jacob and Matthew Foust and Phillip and Thomas Ford.

Visitation and Service: A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home with funeral services on Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with Rev Gary S. Coble, pastor, officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Cemetery or Scholarship Fund, 9275 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
