Adam SCHAEFER born 16 November 1855 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Heinrich SCHAEFER and Magdalena EISSINGER.

Adam at the age of 17 with his parents and siblings; Johannes, Maria, Karl, Magdalena and Susanna, immigrated to America via the Port of Hamburg, Germany aboard the SS "Westphalia" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 23rd of July 1873.

Adam married Elisabetha REICH in about 1879 in Yankton County, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with no less than 10 children; Karolina, Johanna, Emma, Magdalena, Henry, Sophia, Ida, Elizabeth and 2 infants. Adam died in May 1911.
