IN MEMORIAM,

Thomas Roderick Ferguson, 79, of Farmington, died peacefully at his home in Farmington on Monday (March 24, 2008).

He was the husband for 55 years to Jacquelin (Thompson) Ferguson.

He was born on April 5, 1928, in Bridgeport and raised by the late Roy T. and Hazel Ferguson. Thomas grew up in Torrington, and then served his country in the United States Marine Corp during World War II.

He was the past Owner/President of Ferguson Electric, CO. Inc., was a member of the Plainville Board of Education for 16 years and also served as it's Chairman. He was a member of the Park and Recreation Commission, Plainville Rotary Club and President of the former Plainville Jaycees. He was a member of the Masonic Order, a life long member and Past Commander of the VFW Post 574.

Thomas coached the Bees for several years in the Plainville Little League and coached the Jets for several years in the Plainville Midget Football League. In his free time Tom enjoyed watching athletic events, traveling, playing golf and gardening.

He was well known through out the town of Plainville for his devoted support within the community, especially focusing on the local area youth's educational and recreational needs.

Tom Ferguson has left a lasting impression on family, friends and peers alike and will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Along with his loving wife Jacquelin Ferguson of Farmington, he leaves his daughter Dale Stroczkowski of Buffalo, NY; and his son Lee T. Ferguson; seven grandchildren Ryan, Geoffrey, Thomas and Andrew Ferguson of Plainville and Caitlin, Allison and Nichoas Stroczkowski of Buffalo, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his brother Jack and his wife Emily Leffingwell of Torrington; and his sister Jane DeGumbia of Hobe Sound, FL.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 10 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in West Cemetery, Plainville.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
