He was born on July 21, 1943, to Wayne W. and Hilma Fines Evans in Yakima, Wash. He grew up in that area, and after graduation from high school he attended junior college. He then went to work for Boeing in the Seattle area. During this time he also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He then went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad. He came to Klamath Falls in 1974 to work for Burlington Northern and met Trudy Brown, they were married on Aug. 1, 1975. He worked for the OC&E Railroad and then returned to Burlington Northern. In 2000 he was involved in an accident that left him disabled. In 2004 he was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed.
He enjoyed the outdoors including, hunting-especially elk hunting, four-wheeling, jet skiing, fishing, camping and the Oregon Coast. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He was involved with the Senior Center Whittling group.
He is survived by his wife Trudy of Klamath Falls; sons and daughter-in-law Thomas and Pamela Gardner of Klamath Falls, Shane Evans of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters and sons-in-law Trina and Juan Perez of Klamath Falls, Terri and Clifford Robinson of Klamath Falls, Kristi and Dean Schneider of Tacoma, Wash.; mother and step-father Hilma Evans Greenwood and Bill Greenwood of Yakima, Wash.; father-in-law Frank H. Brown; brother Boyd Evans of Redmond, Wash.; sister and brother-in-law: Kaye and Terry Anderson of Yakima, Wash.; sister-in-law Deanna Hauger of Olympia, Wash; aunt Lois Pedersen of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren Stephen, Tanner, Austin, Noah, Megan, Brayden, Eva, Juan Nicholas, Alyse, Lucas, Julie, Lawrence, Gary, Jesse, Allums, Lance and C.J.; one great-granddaughter and many other special friends and family.
