Jimmy Morris, 61 of Callaway, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Bay County, and was a self-employed contractor and developer for the last 26 years. Jimmy served his country as a platoon sergeant in the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a charter member of the Harvest Worship Center, and attended Midway Baptist Church. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, C. E. "Whitie" and Abbie Morris, his sister, Fredia Curti, brother, Raymond Randall Morris, and his nephew Randy Morris and his wife Debbie.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sandra Morris of Callaway; his children, Heather Morris and Nathan Donalson of Panama City and Leslie Bass and husband Robbie of Cedar Grove; his granddaughter, Gabrielle Morris; special adopted daughters, Brandy Ramsey and Veronica Spikes; his brothers, Dewey Morris and wife Cindy and Jack Morris and wife Ginger; and his sister, Dora Curti and husband Eddie.
Services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Rochefort and Pastor John Ramsey officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Chester A. Sims VA Nursing Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Ray Morris, David Buzier, Jeff Morris, Eric Curti, Houston Morris, Joseph Morris, Chad Smith, Aaron Buzier, Tommy Emerson and Tony Cross.
The family will be gathering at the Curti Residence, 2340 E. 16th St.
