An announcement of interest throughout the state is that made by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harrington Baker of the marriage of their daughter, Catherine, to Mr. Allen Alphonso Matthews. Dr. Harold Shields performed the ceremony.
The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Baker, and is the sister of Frank Harrington Baker, Jr., and Clarke Dallas Baker. Mrs. Matthews was a graduate of Girls' High School. She complete her education at Agnes Scott College.
Mr. Matthews is the son of Mr. Al Matthews and the late Mrs. Queenie Ebbert Matthews and is a brother of Misses Mary and Queenie Matthews and of Mr. Thomas V. Matthews. The bridegroom was graduated from Boys' High School and later attended Georgia School of Technology."
