US Congressman. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1844, and commenced the practice of his profession in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. He served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and was one of the organizers of the Susquehanna Railroad Co., in 1851. He was a Republican Congressman from Pennsylvania, serving from 1869 to 1877. He then resumed the practice of law in Sunbury.
