Funeral services for Thomas D. Bates, 69, who died Thursday at his home in Pelahatchie were held at Leesburg Baptist Church at 2:30 Saturday.
Burial was made in the church cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A retired farmer, Bates was a Baptist. He was a native or Rankin County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada L. Bates of Leesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Walton of Morton; two sons, Bill Bates of Pelahatchie, and Paul Bates of Morton; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ras Gibbons of Morton and one brother, Jack Bates of Morton.
