Dr. Thomas V. Matthews, who has practiced medicine in Atlanta, died in his apartment Friday.
Dr. Matthews, a life long residence of Atlanta, graduated from Boys High School and Emory University. He received his medical degree from the Harvard Medical School, and interned at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was a member of the Fulton County, Georgia and the American medical societies. He was a member of the Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church.
Graveside services and burial will be Sunday in Greenwood Cemetery, the Rev. Dr. Allison Williams officiating.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Leedell Matthews; and a son, Thomas V. Matthews, Jr., both of Atlanta, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles K. Howard, Atlanta, and Mrs. Marvin R. Smith, Cordele.
