Paul Eugene Stone
Funeral services for Paul Eugene Stone, 40, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur, with Rev. Ron Meadors, Duncan, OK, Assembly of God pastor, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Bob Wright of the Spur Assembly of God.
Stone was pronounced dead at his home in Dickens by Justice of the Peace, Woodie McArthur, at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday, November 24. A rancher, Stone had worked for the FBI about eight years, coming to Dickens County from Dallas in 1968. He also worked in law enforcement in Crosby County where he was a deputy sheriff and he also worked in law enforcement in Dickens County.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Born in Paducah on July 22, 1943, he married the former Nancy McAllister in Las Vegas, NM, on April 13, 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Ruth (McAllister) of Dickens; one son, Stephen Craig Stone, Ft. Knox, KY; two daughters, Paula Kaye Stone of Bedford and Stephanie Lynn Stone, Dickens; his parents, former Dickens County Sheriff, Bill Stone and Velma Stone, Dickens; one sister, Mary Rose, Albany and two nephews.
Pallbearers included Jeff Dawson, Fred Owen, Allen Adams, Dennis Spray, Jim Roby, Jake Diggs and Don Karr.
Burial was in Dickens Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
