A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilman, where he was a member. Rev. John Balluff will officiate.
Private inurnment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman.
He died Monday (Nov. 18, 2002) at the Greenbrier Healthcare Center, Piper City.
Mr. Hansen was a conductor for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad retiring in 1983 after 44 years of service.
He was born March 26, 1923, in Gilman, the son of Emil R. and Hazel (Hanson) Hansen.
His wife, the former Mary Jean Harding of Chicago, died in 2001.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cheryl Hansen of Tinley Park, Tom and Kathy Hansen of Wheaton, Richard and Anita Hansen of Southern California; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Joseph and Richard Hansen, both of Gilman.
One daughter, Kathleen Hansen; and two brothers, John and Robert Hansen, are deceased.
Mr. Hansen returned to Gilman from Chicago in September 2001.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II.
