Arch Marshall 89, died last Wednesday in the Good Samaritan Center, Superior. The funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Kramer Funeral Home, Mankato. The Rev. Marlin Enabnit officiated and interment was in the Burr Oak Cemetery. He was born July 14, 1899, in White Church, Mo. The family moved to the Burr Oak area in 1905. He attended school and church at Henderson Chapel with his brothers and sisters in his early years. Jan 31, 1928, he and Minnie Carman were united in marriage. One daughter, Ardell, was born to this union. As a carpenter he was a fine cabinet maker and received recognition at the Nuckolls County Fair for his woodworking projects made in the Good Samaritan workshop. His past employment included working at the Burr Oak Plumbing Company, operating a laundry service and delivering mail, as well as his carpentry work in homes in this locality. Except for a few years farming near St.Francis, Kan., he and his family lived in and near Burr Oak. Preceding him in death were his wife, Minnie, in 1981; his daughter, Ardell, in 1974; two brothers, George and Norvill Marshall; and a half-sister, Mae Potter. Survivors include a grandaughter, Jill, Salina; sisters, Phila Calahan of Mankato,Edna Mohler of Burr Oak and Izora Myers of Chula Vista, Calif., one brother, Norris, Lewistown, Idaho; and many other relatives.
