MONTEREY -- Graveside services for Mary Ruth Swallows, 86, of Monterey, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sun., Dec. 19, at Whittaker Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sun., Dec. 19, at Horner Funeral Home.
Miss Swallows died today, Fri., Dec. 17, 1999, at Standing Stone Health Care Center, following an extended illness.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1913, in Monterey to the late Paris and Dora Whittaker Swallows. Miss Swallows was a sales associate with Bower Department Store for a number of years, and was retired from Hire-Jent and Bray Department Store. She was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church.
Her family includes a sister, Edna Bower of Monterey; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Swallows of Baxter; and a devoted cousin, Georgia Ruth Robinson of Monterey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Amelia Nell Dow and Dora Lee Swallows; six brothers, Dale, Haskell, Finley, Dortus, J.L. and V.L. Swallows; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Bower and David Dow.
Rev. Clifford Ingram will officiate at the services.
