Viola Leticia Block, the daughter of Charles King and Mary (Edge) King, was born on April 6, 1908 at Troy, Kansas. She passed away on June 5, 1998 in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 29 days.
She lived in Troy until May 14, 1930, when she was united in marriage to Peter Block. They moved onto a farm twelve miles northwest of Superior and lived there for forty years, before moving to Superior.
Viola was active in the Superior Baptist Church and Abdal Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Peter Block on September 25, 1995, five brothers, Clarence, Elmer, Melvin, Oliver and Sam King, sisters, Rozena and Minerva King, Luvina Kidder and Verda Engeman.
Left to mourn her passing are four brothers, Milton and wife, Annabelle, Arlan and wife, Mary Louise, Walter and wife, Lelia all of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Calvin and wife, Millie of Florida, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 8, 1998 at 10:30 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Tom Hinshaw officiating. Music was "In The Garden" and "Foot Prints", with Carol Shambaugh as soloist and Glenda Thayer-Hiner as organist.
Pallbearers were Neil Thomsen, Soren Thomsen, Jay Nielsen, Jake White, Larry Juergens, and Russ Snyder.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
