OBITUARY:

John W. Wiemer, 59, of York died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in York. He was born March 10, 1943, in York to William A. and Nora Lucille (Folgers) Wiemer. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He worked a number of years in York for NPPD [Nebraska Public Power District] in the maintenance department. He is survived by one daughter, Bridget Wiemer of Salt Lake City Utah; one grandson; sister Patsy Whipple of San Angelo, Texas; two half-sisters and a stepbrother. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Metz Chapel. Military gravesides services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be sent in care of the family. Metz Mortuary in York is in charge of arrangements.
