Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the start of the service. Interment will follow at Rock Island Memorial Park.
Mrs. Andersen was born on Nov. 10, 1907, in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Joseph "Joe" and Mary "Millie" McCarthy Middleton. She was married to Peter B. Andersen on Nov. 14, 1942, in Ontario. He preceded her in death in June of 1970.
Pearl had worked as a telegrapher in her earlier years for a steel company in Canada and for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, King's Daughters and was involved in fine arts at the Butterworth Center. She enjoyed walking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors (and spouses) include her daughter, Edythe Andersen, Moline; son, Grant (Kathy) Andersen, Moline; grandchildren, Scott B. (Teresa) Andersen, Ankeny, Iowa, Chandra (Jeff) Borland, Rock Island, John (Tracey) Andersen, Carbondale, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Lauren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
