Delores M. Miller, 80, of Menomonie died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Menomonie.
The former Delores Mabel Behling was born June 28, 1928, in Menomonie to Alfred and Helen (Hovde) Behling. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947.
Delores married James R. Miller on Oct. 19, 1951, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, where she had been confirmed and was a lifelong member.
After their marriage, Delores and Jim took over the Miller home farm in the Little Elk Creek area and farmed for many years.
In her younger years, Delores enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She was active in the Little Elk Creek 4-H Club and in her church. She later enjoyed playing "500" with her friends and traveling with her husband. Delores was a kind and loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Delores is survived by her children, Roger Miller of Menomonie, Jeffery (Sandy) Miller of Hudson, Sandra Miller of Menomonie; a grandson, Matthew Miller of Roseville, Minn.; two step-grandsons, Torry and Troy Peterson of Hudson; two step-great-granddaughters, Calista Rose and Krisana Jean Peterson; a sister, Betty (Everett) Schliter of San Leandro, Calif.; and a brother, Alfred Behling of Northfield, Minn. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and a sister, Joan Rankenburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Mary Jorgensen officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Menomonie, Dunn County. Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
