Richard Roy Deadmond was one of the 12 children of Bluford Deadmond and Emeline (Adams) Deadmond. The family traveled the plains to the Oregon Territory, arriving in Lane County in 1853. Richard Deadmond married Harriet L. Goddard on 02 Oct 1882 in Lane County, Oregon.

R.R. DEADMOND, 75, DIES HERE MONDAY

R.R. Deadmond, 75, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.R. Hayes, Twenty-fifth and Friendly late Monday afternoon. He had been ill for a short time.

Mr. Deadmond was born in Eugene April 15, 1856. He had been a resident of Oregon his whole life, spending only one night outside of the state. He settled in the Leaburg district in 1904 and operated a farm there, until the last few years. He was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving Mr. Deadmond are his widow, Mrs. Harriett Deadmond; one daughter, Mrs. Hayes; one son, E.O. Deadmond of Leaburg; four grandchildren; three brothers, John Deadmond of Eugene; J.R. Deadmond of Silver Lake and J.A. Deadmond of Yachats; and one sister, Mrs. Harriett Watson of Yakima, Wash.

Funeral services will be held in the Leaburg church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. R.F. Clark will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Veatch funeral home.
