The date of death on the marker appears to be an error. Mollie's NC Death Certificate clearly shows date of death as 27 September 1922, with removal for burial on 28 September 1922. The NC Death Collection from the NC State Archives also shows 27 September 1922.

Mollie was the wife of James Terry McLeod and the daughter of John Jenkins Bennett and Sarah Armstrong Jones. Mollie and her sister Ida Cornelia Bennett married McLeod brothers.

Jim and Mollie were farmers and the parents of five children: Archie Karl, Laura Augusta, Lazelle Bennett, Furman James and Lena Tatia McLeod. Laura died as a toddler in 1889.

The James Terry McLeod house still exists and is owned by the Price Richardson Hunt Club. It sits at the intersection of Sandhills Game Management Road (aka Gibson Mill Road) and Beaverdam Church Road.
