Hoyt, of Hamshire, passed away at his residence.
He was a funeral director with Broussard's for over forty-five years. For twenty-one of those years, he served the Winnie community. He was a former member of the Beaumont Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, former President of the West End Exchange Club, and served the community of Winnie in various ways. He was also a former recipient of the Funeral Director of the Year Award from the Southeast TX Funeral Directors Association. During WWII, he served his country in the US Navy.
He is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Linda Hefner; son, Rodger Hefner and his wife, Cathy; daughters, Janice Hix, Colleen McGuire, Anna Marie Sparks and her husband, Jimmy Dale; brothers, Leach Hefner and his wife, Margie and Jerry Hefner; grandchildren, Heather Hefner, Samantha Cervantes, Jenna McGuire, Laura McGuire, Scott Epps, Michael McGuire; great-grandchildren Grant and Guy Cervantes and Olivia Epps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Hoyt Hefner.
