Services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel for Calvin Montie Dunbar, age 87 of Shreveport, La. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Hudspeth, Pastor of King's Temple United Pentecostal Church where Mr. Dunbar was a member. Interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Dunbar entered into rest on Saturday January 6, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Shreveport for most of his life. He was a retired superintendent for T.L. James Construction Company with thirty-five years of service. Mr. Dunbar was a 32nd degree Mason, and he loved gardening and raising blue birds.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Kelly, one brother, Kenneth V. Dunbar and a granddaughter, Carly Dunbar.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Catherine Dunbar; two daughters, Patricia Ann Dunbar of Shreveport, La., and Shirley Irene Bernardini and her husband Rev. John Bernardini of Livingston, Tx.; one son, Montie Dale Dunbar of Shreveport, La.; five sisters, Lenor Zeigler, Bess Chance, Dora Kaylor, Margaret Dixon, and Lois Mangham and husband Bobby, all of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, William Neal Dunbar and wife Carol of Smyrna, Ga., and Richard D. Dunbar and wife Margaret of Shreveport, La.; two grandchildren, Rev. John Timothy Bernardini and wife Rebecca and Chelsea Ann Alexander and husband David Lee.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Faulk and Bill Meier. Pallbearers will be Leroy Linwood Arthur, Ed Gilmer, Dr. Alfred McKinney, George Dunbar, Dennie Chance, Rev. John Berry and Charles Harville.

The family would like to thank Willis-Knighton Hospice, especially nurse Jan Barham and Drs. Hargon, Rosen, Elmajian, and Singh for their loving care.

Memorials may be made to King's Temple United Pentecostal Church.
