He married on August 18, 1928; his wife: Mary Victoria Rusche (1887-1981) - they had no children. She was previously married to a Mr O'Haver and had two children: Stanford Ray O'Haver (1907-1994) and Arlie Elizabeth O'Haver Featheringill (1910-1986).
Jim worked for the Indianapolis Times newspaper from about 1920-1952 - previously he worked for the Indianapolis Star/News. He was the first pressman to set a color advertisement and the first to set a perfume ad with the perfume mixed with the ink.
He was a member of the International Pressman's Union.
Jim raised homing pigeons and he was a boxer in his younger days.
Jim died at age 89 years 3 months 8 days.
