Thomas P. Arble enlisted as a private at Central City, Colorado Territory, October 31, 1861, and was mustered into Company K, 1st Colorado Cavalry, at Denver, Colorado Territory. Private Arble was posted to New Mexico Territory where he died at Fort Union, New Mexico Territory, October 27, 1863, and was buried in the post cemetery (Grave 141). Later, his remains were reinterred here in March 1876. (Burial Registers of Military Posts-Fort Union)
