Elmer G. Herrold, 102, of Ashkum, IL, died at 4:45 A. M., Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his home in rural Ashkum, IL.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman with Rev. Ron Rasmus officiating.
Burial will be in the Ashkum Cemetery, Ashkum, IL. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Danforth Twp. Community Building Fund or Iroquois West Rifle Club.

Elmer was born on November 14, 1904 in Danforth, IL to George & Johanna (Zimmering) Herrold. He was raised in the rural Danforth/Ashkum Area.
He attended rural Ashkum schools.
He was a farmer and known for sharpening saw blades.


Surviving Elmer are cousins and friends.
Pre-decedents - Parents, one sister - Harriet, and one brother - John.

Elmer was The National Junior Trap Shoot Champion in 1921 at the Grand American in Chicago.
He enjoyed welding, shooting pool, playing trumpet in an orchestra and playing baseball.
