Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 28, at 2 p.m. from Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Clifford Millican officiating.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1966. He worked with Revere Copper and Brass then with Norandal USA until his retirement in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Edith C. Hess; daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Keith Webb of Scottsboro; son, James Hess of Scottsboro; grandson, Kenneth Webb; sisters, Ann and Kenneth Looney and Rhonda Hess, all of Scottsboro; brothers, Donnie and Della Hess of Stevenson and Terry and Freida Hess of Scottsboro; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Tallulah C. Bush of Scottsboro and Nancy Carol and Richard Boren of Athens, Tenn.; aunt, Veda Arnold of Scottsboro; uncle, Ronald Hess of Gadsden; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbor, Virginia Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine and Anderson Hess.
