Henry (Heinrich) Otto Heller sailed on the ship Oder from Bremen and landed in New York on 25 June 1881 [Passenger #479]. "Following his arrival he was employed by his uncle, William (Billy) Heller, who operated a butcher shop in the second block on North Main. Later he bought the shop from his uncle and operated it 15 years before retiring to his farm, where he resided until his death. He was the owner of Heller's grove, a favorite picnic and outing spot on North Arkansas. His was one of the first exclusive meat markets in the city... Mr. Heller was active in Masonic circle many years and was a member of Albert Pike Lodge No. 303, A.F.&A.M., and the Midian Shrine. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

On 31 Aug 1887, he married Wilhelmina Paul in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., Kansas. They were married at the Sons of Herman Hall by Reverend Louis Kohlmann of the St. Pauls German Lutheran Church, with witnesses Richard Frank and Mary Borstner.

On the 31 October 1896, in the 18 Judicial District of the State of Kansas in the County of Sedgwick, he became a citizen of the United States.

They are the parents of six children; Wilhelm(William) Adolph Heller, Heinrich (Henry) Otto, Jr., Karl Theodor, Wilhelmina Emanuella H., Kopplin, Albert Hermann, and Theresa Margarethe Karoline H., Compton.
