Brown County World. 27 May 1910. p6

Preston Hudelson died at the home of his mother west of Powhattan Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He was kicked in the stomach by a horse and died from the effects of it. He was 35 years old and unmarried. He was a brother of Robert Hudelson, of Hiawatha.

Brown County World. Friday, 3 June 1910. p19

Many from Carson attended the funeral of Preston Hudelson which was one of the largest funerals in this neighborhood. The sympathy of all their friends is with the good mother who knows the loss of a good quiet boy, one she always trusted, and one who made them a happy home together. The remains were laid to rest in the Powhattan cemetery. Rev. A.L. Siebert conducted the services. Although he died Tuesday he was not buried until Sunday, awaiting the arrival of his sisters, one from Denver and one from Oregon. Both were present. The beautiful casket was loaded with a wealth of flowers.
