She was the daughter of John Joseph(?) (1852-1923) and Sarah Ann McGinnis (1855-1902) Maloney.

Her mother died in 1902 and her Aunt 'Bid' Bridget Bowers (her mother's sister) raised her and her eight brothers and sisters.

Mary married January 6, 1919 - her husband: George T Costello (1898-1962). She and George had one daughter, Anna Josephine (1919-2009). Mary and George later divorced.

Mary returned to the home place to live with her sister, Sadie (she had taken her maiden name back - returned home after her marriage ended) and brother, John.

Her father died in 1923.

Sadie kept house and Mary worked at Bixby's (polish company) and retired from there. Their brother William Anthony 'Mickey' moved back home in 1952 after his divorce. John died in 1960, Mickey in 1965. The highway purchased the property in 1966 and Sadie and Mary moved to an apartment. In 1974/1975 Mary went to a nursing home. Sadie died in 1979 and Mary in 1980.

Mary died at age 83 years 9 months 4 days.
