Joseph Pippin was born about 1764 in Queen Anne's Co, MD. The family moved to Edgecombe Co, NC, about 1765. He died about 1845 in the Pippin Community, Jackson Co, TN. His actual burial place is unknown. This Memorial Stone was erected and dedicated Oct. 1998 by some of his descendants through the efforts of Marvin Huddleston. Joseph was a planter, constable and the founder of Pippin Community, Jackson Co, TN. He is the son of Solomon & Amy Pippin of Queen Anne's Co, MD, and Edgecombe Co, NC. Solomon supported North Carolina and the Continental Congress in the struggle for independence from Great Britain. He provided supplies and rendered service to the cause during the Revolutionary War.
