Dorothy Barbara (Oles) Bellantuono, dearly loved wife of Vincent J. Bellantuono, passed away on Friday, (August 22, 2008) with her family present at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, after a long illness.


She was born in New York City on December 3, 1927 to Joseph and Lillian Oles and moved to Connecticut as a young child. Dorothy and Vincent were happily married for 56 years. She leaves two precious sons and a daughter-in-law, whom she loves dearly, Jeffery and his wife, Kris of Meriden, and her son Gary, her angel in New Britain. She also leaves her dear sister, Jane Oles of New Britain, as well as her extended family including, sisters-in-law, who called her their sister. Also many nieces and nephews who she loved so much and was so proud of.


Dorothy graduated from New Britain High School in 1947 and went to secretarial school. She worked for the State of Connecticut at the Liquor Commission as an Executive secretary until retiring at age 65. Dorothy enjoyed singing with the Do Re Mommies, a group of mothers who sang together for over 25 years, formed at Holmes School. She loved to travel throughout the USA, to the islands and to Paris, Rome and London. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and celebrating, they were the joy of her life. Dorothy was a devout religious person and was a parishioner at St. Jerome's Church in New Britain. She if now in heaven and will always be in my heart, with all my love, your Vin.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at 9 a.m. from the New Britain Memorial Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome's Church.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 26th from 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. (Directions: I-84, Right off exit#37, 1 1/2 miles on right).
