Funeral services for Newton Burkhart, 77, who died Friday, Aug 8 at his home near Chadwick were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chadwick Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Shipman officiating. Burial was in Chadwick Cemetery under direction of Harris Funeral Home of Clever. A retired carpenter and farmer, he had spent his entire life in the Chadwick community. Survivors include two sons, Roy Burkhart of Auburn, Calif. and Basil Burkhart of Chadwick; two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Shipman of Fresno, Calif. and Mrs. Agnes Davis of Oakland, Calif.; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Breazeale of Elkhead, Mo.
