Anchorage resident Barry Bernard Adams, 35, died Sept. 16, 1999, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage from a head injury. A funeral was at Shiloh Baptist Church, 855 E. 20th Ave.

Visitation was for one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers included Leo Jenkins, Roger LeBlanc, Courtney Edwards and Clyde Nichols. Burial was in Dyersburg, Tenn.

Mr. Adams was born Oct. 14, 1963, in Chicago, and served in the U.S. Army from November 1981 until March 1984. In 1988 he moved to Alaska, where he worked for several companies, including Veco, Hotel Captain Cook, Guardian Security, Oaken Keg and J.B. Gottstein.

He enjoyed basketball, football and jazz. His family said he was a loving husband and father and a great cook.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Christine V. Adams of Anchorage; son, Christopher Adams; daughter, Elisha Adams, both of Anchorage; mother, Shirley of Atlanta, Ga.; father, John Ben of Flint, Mich.; sisters, Kareema Alhaleem of Flint, Tawona Alhaleem and Ryetta Alhaleem of Atlanta, Ga.; aunts and uncles in Anchorage; many cousins in Anchorage, St. Louis and Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews in St. Louis, Flint and Atlanta. Arrangements by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
