Funeral services for John R. Adams, a resident of Texarkana
for many years,died in the Veterans Hospital in McKinney, Texas.............Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.,Tuesday, at East Funeral Home with the Rev.Emmett H. Mays officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Masonic Lodge 672 will be in charge of services at the grave,and also act as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be other friends of the family.
A veteran of World War 1, Mr. Adams is survived by his wife,Mrs. Irene Adams; his mother Mrs. G.H. Adams, and one sister,Mrs. A.G. Hubbard, all of this city.
His mother, Minnie L. DeFee, was the sister of William Jackson DeFee, my Grandfather. Minnie was daughter of Green Pinkham DeFee and Margaret Anna DeFee nee Carr.
