Mr. Carlson died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 8, 1934, in Lecompton, the son of Fred J. and Margaret Alice Wilson Carlson.
Mr. Carlson was a truck driver for Truck Drivers Teamsters Union No. 696 in Topeka for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He married Leota "Tommie" Kelch on Sept. 23, 1960, in Lawrence. She died July 8, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Skip, Lawrence; a daughter, Lynn Campbell and husband Scott, Andover; a sister, Shirley Skinner and husband Tom, Lecompton; and four grandchildren, Trent and Taylor Campbell and Bailey and Hannah Carlson.
