RITES HELD SATURDAY
FOR EX-MARION MAN
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Arvil Boatright, 57, formerly of Marion, in the Corinth Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Reeves and the Rev. Frank Proctor officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery.
Boatright, a guard at Menard prison in Chester, died at his home in Chester at 11:15 p.m. Thursday.
He was born in Saline County on July 9, 1897, a son of M. C. and Cora Blackburn Boatright. He was married to Lois Roberts in Wheaton in 1929. He was a formerly a barber in Marion.
Boatright leaves his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred Cushman of Chester, and five brothers, Roy and Wilburn of Marion, Walter of Decatur, Leeman of West Frankfort and Lloyd of Harrisburg.
