Easter M. Allen, 89, of Winterset died from complications of pneumonia Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), April 1, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Roger Schlaefer officiating. Burial will take place at Clark Cemetery in Madison County.
Easter Allen was born April 19, 1908, in Madison County to Edward Eudoras and Cora Mae Porter Snow. a life-time resident of Madison County, she was a homemaker and also worked at Madison County Memorial Hospital and Tim's Club Cafe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Walter Johnson; second husband, Ernest Jeffs; third husband, Tom Allen; one daughter, Wilma; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Jeffs (wife Jean) of Winterset and Everett Jeffs (wife Dixie) of Rogers, Ark.; one daughter, JoAnn Wiley (husband Pearl) of Panora; two step-sons, Sam Allen (wife Judy) of Ft. Dodge and Tom Allen (wife Anita) of Winterset; one stepdaughter, Gerry Ellis of Blue Springs, Mo.; one brother, George Snow of Atlantic; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
