FRED HARSHMAN Died; Services Planned Monday.
Fred E. HARSHMAN, 70, of Frankfort Rt. 5, died at 3:10 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Newton Nursing Home. He had been ill for eleven months. Mr. HARSHMAN was a lifelong resident of the Manson community. He had been a farmer during all of his active life and also had been engaged in trucking. He was born in Clinton County on Feb. 14, 1895, the son of Edgar and Nellie (MYNES) HARSHMAN. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Pearl Inez (SELLERS) HARSHMAN, to whom he was married Dec. 31, 1913; one son Harold E. HARSHMAN of Linden; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma L. MacKENZIE, Mrs. Mary G. LEACH and Mrs. Doris I. WILKIN, all of Frankfort, and Mrs. Annabelle McQUERN of Boyleston; four brothers, Clarence HARSHMAN of Michigan, Curtis HARSHMAN of Anderson, Everett HARSHMAN of Clarks Hill, and Ralph HARSHMAN of Lebanon; six sisters, Mrs. Flossie BARNETT, Mrs. Clara CARTER and Mrs. Marie McNELLY, all of Frankfort, Mrs. Dorothy TAYLOR of Kirklin, Mrs. Mildred McDONALD of Missouri and Mrs. Ina CRISS of Colfax; a half-brother, Chance HARSHMAN of Pendleton, and 10 grandchildren, an infant daughter, four brothers, a half-brother and a half-sister preceded him in death. Mr. Harshman's body was taken to the Goodwin Funeral Home where it was announced friends may call after 3 O'clock this afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2 O'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. Pedro Cervantes will be the officiating minister and burial will be made in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
