Ora D. Chalifoux, 74, native of Adams

Ora D. (Saillant) Chalifoux, 74, wife of Henry Chalifoux of 492 Union St., died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in North Adams Regional Hospital where she was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage.

She was born in Adams April 28, 1900, a daughter of the late Cyril and Virginia (Thibodeau) Saillant and attended Adams Schools. As a young woman she was employed in the Berkshire Mills in Adams, the by the Hoosac Mills Corp. in this city from which she retired in 1962.

She was a member of Notre Dame Church.

Besides her husband, to whom she was married July 31, 1921, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence N. Jeffers and Mrs. Raymond L. Cutler, both of North Adams, and Claire Rone of Braintree, two sons, Leonard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Henry Jr. of Bennington, Vt.; two sisters, Mrs. John Lowe of North Adams and Mrs. Aimee Gagnon of Pawtucket, R.I.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. Another daughter, the late Dorothy McHatten of Presque Isle, Maine died Jan. 1, 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Chalifoux celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1971.

Funeral service with a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 9 Tuesday morning in St. Anthony`s Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
