Grover Cleveland McClendon, 69, died early Tuesday morning April 5, at the residence on Rt. 2, Oneonta. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gadsden McClendon. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Nannie V. McClendon, Rt. 2, Oneonta; two sons, Harvey McClendon, Rt. 1, Oneonta, James McClendon, Rt. 2, Oneonta; two step-sons, Carl Dorsett, Houston, Texas, Roy Dorsett, Rt. 5, Albertville; four daughters, Mrs. Lola Jacques, Montgomery, Mrs. Zona West, Star Rt., Albertville, Mrs. Dessie Mae Powell, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Willie Dee Hand, Rt. 2, Oneonta; four brothers, John McClendon, Texas, Archie McClendon, Albertville, Bernet McClendon, Rt. 1, Albertville, Wilson McClendon, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Smallwood, Texas, Mrs. Reba Phillips, Columbus, Ga., Mrs. Zellie Bailey, Roopville, Ga., Mrs. Nellie Mae Smith, Columbus, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Last rites were held April 6th at Allgood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Elmer Dempsey officiating. Interment was in Shiloh Cemetery, Wiggins Brown Service Funeral Home in charge.
