Final rites for Thomas Settle Wray, 90, of Reidsville, who died early yesterday at the home of a son here, were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Citty Funeral Home in Reidsville.
Rev. Thomas B. Stockton, pastor of First Methodist Church of Reidsville, officiated, and burial was in Reidlawn Cemetery at Reidsville.
Mr. Wray had been ill for six weeks and had been there with his son, Wade N. Wray for one week.
A native of Reidsville, he ad served as a deputy Sheriff of Rockingham County, later was an electrical contractor and for several years was superintendent of the Reidsville Water and Lights Department. The major part of his business career was spent as Reidsville agent for Standard Oil Company. He retired in 1928.
He was active in the First Methodist Church of Reidsville and was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, the Knights of Pythias, and the Royal Arcanum.
Surviving in addition to the son here, are two daughters, Mrs. F. J. Bello of Reidsville and Mrs. William T. Mauney of Charlotte; two other sons, Thomas E. Wray of Lynchburg, Va, and W. Earl Wray of Reidsville; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
