J. Homer Deal, 82, a former Saline County resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1986 at the Veterans Hospital in Shreveport, La.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Campbell-Lewis Chapel.

Born Feb. 21, 1904 in Mt. Leonard, Mo. he was the son of the late Aubrey Rea Deal and Lydia Wright Deal. He was married to Anna Marie Hellyer and she preceded him in death on July 1, 1962. On Aug. 20, 1963 he was married to Kathleen McRady Causey and she survives of the home in Shreveport, La. Mr. Deal was a Baptist and was a retired farmer. He moved in 1981 from rural Nelson to Shreveport.

Survivors include one son, Carroll Deal of Napton; two step-daughters, Mrs. Sidney White of Shreveport, La.; Mrs. A.M. Goldsby of Dallas, Tex.; a stepson, Richard Causey of Warner Robins, Ga.; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Rea A. Deal of Napton; a half sister, Mrs. Russell Hill of Kansas City, Mo.; a half brother, Ralph Deal of Drexel, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
