Surviving are his wife; Donna Roberts Banks; a son James Russell Banks II of Asheville NC; a daughter Jill Banks of Asheville, NC; his mother and stepfather Mrs. Ford Sanders of Myrtle Beach; two brothers Randy Banks of Greenville and Ford Sanders II of Myrtle Beach; three sisters Gloria Jones, Mrs Tom (Judy) Colgate and Mrs. Mark (Terron) Holliday of Myrtle Beach; paternal grandmother, Annabelle Banks of Waynesboro GA; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Burley Martin of Conway.
