Oma N. Drake (nee Strayn), age 87 of Griffith,Indiana passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice (late Randy) Gregory of Demotte and Sheila (Robert) Pepoff of Griffith; eight grandchildren, Don Gregory of Schererville, Wendy (Darrell) Cooper of Demotte, Lori (Jim) Gilbert of Fair Oaks, Indiana, Robert (Tracy) Pepoff of Griffith and Josh Pepoff of Griffith; great grandchildren, Lonnie, Natalie, James, Megan, Sharayah, Jessica, Jesse, Joey, Brenton, Katelin, Brian, Nathan, Wyatt, Jenna and Bobby; numerous great great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Abney and Billie (Max) Gabert, both of Owensboro, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill Drake; son, Billy Drake; and son-in-law, Randy Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland. Burial in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Drake was a member of the Briar East Baptist Church of Hessville. She enjoyed reading and she especially loved her children and grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in her loving memory to the American Cancer Society.
